BASIC INFORMATION

Aim
The objective of this course is to impart foundational knowledge to support the development of cancer registries and to provide detailed coding methodology for several specific cancer sites. The agenda is shaped in a way to suit both the newly established, re-established or to-be established population based registries and new registrars that are just starting to work in existing cancer registries. In particular, we are targeting the Balkan region and Eastern Europe, however participants from any European Cancer Registries are welcome.

Workshop on planning and developing cancer registries. Lead faculty: dr. Ariana Znaor, GICR/IARC.

Theoretical and practical backgrounds on abstracting and coding specific cancer sites. Given by JRC/ENCR faculty.

A limited budget is available from JRC-ENCR and local organizers for financial support to the participants. The financial support covers estimated travel costs and accommodation. A priority will be given to: [1] applicants affiliated with a ENCR cancer registry; [2] single applicant per Organisation; [3] date of application received. Financial aid is supported by Pfizer, podružnica Ljubljana.
